Made by hand in Vienna, Austria in 2002, this piano is 9’6″ long and famously has the extended compass, 9 additional bass notes give this piano a total of 97 keys.
The Bösendorfer model 290 Imperial is the largest production piano in the world when you consider both its length and added width. While this size gives it tremendous dynamic range, it is better to understand that the size was needed to achieve the musical goals of this rare and wonderful instrument.
