Pre-Owned Steinway & Sons model O grand piano for sale. Made in New York in 2013, this 5’10.5″ grand piano is ideal for most homes. This piano had one adult owner, light use, and was originally selected at the NYC factory showroom. PianoWorks freshened up the hand-rubbed satin finish and then serviced the piano to be fresh for its next owner. It really is in “like-new” condition inside and out. The fallboard is polished to a high-gloss, showing a lovely reflection of the hands while playing.

PianoWorks is delighted to offer this rare and wonderful Golden Era Steinway model A. Made in New York in 1922, the Steinway model A’s from this era, known as AIII or long scale A, are generally agreed to be Steinway’s best version of the model A. Fully restored by PianoWorks in 2005, this piano is now available for purchase. Well maintained by our staff, this piano will offer decades of faithful service to its next owner.
Measuring ~2 inches longer than the current Steinway A, careful study reveals that this model A is a shortened scale of the larger Steinway model B. The result is this Steinway offers most of the power of the Steinway B, but with added color in the soft dynamic and smoother registers than either the AII or the B.
Highlights of the previous restoration include:
- Reconditioned, original soundboard with new hard rock maple bridge caps
- New, fully fit maple pin block
- New Steinway action (hammers, shanks, repetitions, back checks)
- Restored, original ivory and ebony keys with new key bushings
- New Mapes (Steinway) bass strings
