Schimmel has been making pianos in Germany since 1885, and under the leadership of Nikolaus W. Schimmel, Schimmel became the best selling German piano worldwide at the time this piano was new. The quality and value were remarkable. Today, Schimmel continues to make top-tier pianos in Germany, but at far higher prices that make a find like this that much more attractive.
