    Baldwin 5’8″ model R (1986)

    SALE!  Was $7,999 -> $6,999.

    Pre-Owned Baldwin model R for sale.  This 5’8″ model R is part of Baldwin’s Artist series, their top level of design, making it both beautiful to play and durable to last.  Made in USA in 1986, this piano has had one adult owner.  Freshly serviced by PianoWorks staff, it is now ready for a new home.

    While Baldwin’s history goes back to the mid-19th century, Baldwin ascended as one of the truly great modern pianos after WWII.  Baldwin ascended as Steinway’s greatest competition here in the US, frequently winning over top Classical and Pop artists.  As Baldwin grew, they made many different lines and models, but the Artist series, including this model R was a perennial favorite.  Warm, rich and expressive in ways that are usually only matched by the most prestigious brands today, this piano is a true bargain.

    A new Baldwin model R was last made in USA ~2009, and at that time, they retailed for $45,600.

    Baldwin 6’3″ model L (1978)

    SPRING SALE!  Was $10,999 -> $9,999

    An American Classic, this pre-owned Baldwin model L was made for serious musicians.  At 6’3″ in length, this piano offers a full dynamic range and a broad spectrum of tonal colors.

    Refurbished by PianoWorks, this Artist Series grand previously spent decades in a home collecting dust.

    For decades, Baldwin was the largest piano maker in the world, and the success of their Artist models propelled them to recruit the biggest artists for the grandest stages.  This Baldwin comes from the height of their power and reputation.

    Sadly, corporate mismanagement ravaged the company before it was sold off and production went fully overseas.  However, it’s Baldwin’s recent history that makes these wonderful American made classics so undervalued in the market and a perfect opportunity to find this premium instrument on a budget.

    The last time this model was available from US factory (nearly 20 years ago) a Baldwin L retailed for $48,480.

    $49,999.00

    Steinway & Sons 6’2.5″ model A (1974, Hamburg)

    Steinway & Sons needs little introduction, but within the Steinway family are 2 separate factories.  Here in the North America, we’re accustomed to seeing Steinway pianos hand-crafted in New York, but for most of the world, a Steinway comes from a smaller factory in Hamburg, Germany.  A few of these famed Hamburg Steinways make it to some of the preeminent halls in the US, but a parlor grand from Hamburg is typically only imported as part of a household emigrating from elsewhere.

    And that begins our Steinway’s story.  Purchased in London, it came over with a musician many years ago.  PianoWorks received this lovely instrument in trade towards an even larger Bösendorfer grand piano, and we found a lovely home here in Atlanta where this Steinway was treasured and cared for.

    Originally built in Hamburg, Germany in 1974, this pre-owned Hamburg Steinway model A is an ideal companion in any musician’s home.  In original condition, the tone is clear and colorful, the action sensitive and responsive, suitable for hymns and Christmas carols or the most advanced Classical challenges.  It is an inspiring instrument for those fortunate enough to experience it.  This heirloom instrument still has many great years of service ahead of it.

    Available again for the first time in over 20 years, this lovely Steinway is practically a time traveler, so good is its condition.  The handsome satin walnut finish is laid out vertically as is the style in Hamburg.  The inner rim is a lighter-grained, book-matched walnut.  The original, one-piece ivory key tops are in flawless condition…most ivory key covers are 2-piece with a joint line between the head and tail.

    If new, expect to pay over $200k to purchase an import any wood finish Steinway A from Hamburg.
