Here at PianoWorks, we love to bring you some of the best and finest pianos in the world.  Here we have a Pre-Owned Bösendorfer model 290 Imperial for sale.  Made by hand in Vienna, Austria in 2004, this piano is 9’6″ long and famously has the extended compass, 9 additional bass notes give this piano a total of 97 keys.

The Bösendorfer model 290 Imperial is the largest production piano in the world when you consider both its length and added width.  While this size gives it tremendous dynamic range, it is better to understand that the size was needed to achieve the musical goals of this rare and wonderful instrument.  This piano is at home in a large hall or in a living room, and offers more tonal variety than other fine pianos.  Clarity with warmth, power with subtlety, unbelievable resonance and ideal responsiveness are the hallmarks of this design, and this is an amazing example.  Make an appointment to see this rare piano before it is gone.

    Sauter 7’3″ model 220 (1988)

Since 1819, Sauter has been making fine pianos continuously in Germany.  This makes them the oldest piano manufacturer in the world.  Older than Steinway, C.Bechstein or Blüthner (all founded in 1853) and even older than Bösendorfer (founded in 1828).  This heritage and old world craftsmanship is not marketing, it’s easy to see and truly wonderful to experience.

This pre-owned Sauter model 220 is 7’3″ long, making it a semi-concert grand.  Suitable for home, stage, recording studio or small hall, this is a professional musician’s piano through and through.  This particular piano has been in home use since new and has had just one owner.  PianoWorks has polished the cabinet and freshly service the action on this all-original piano.  This heirloom quality piano will last another generation with love and routine maintenance.

Here at PianoWorks, we love great pianos regardless of brand recognition.  We remind our customers that is it the piano that makes the brand good, not the other way around.  This is a truly honored brand, but as a small manufacturer that historically makes less than 500 pianos per year, they are hardly a household name.  But when that piano delights you every time you sit or walk past it, that allure of being “in the know” is perhaps more satisfying than having an a more common name.

Visit us to experience this rare gem and expand your worldview of great pianos.

If new, retail price for a Sauter 220 is $160,000.
