A few words about tuning and maintenance.  The industry standard is to tune a piano twice per year.  For many families, the change in your home thermostat is appropriate timing.  When you change from Fall to Winter and turn on the heat full time, this environmental change will affect your piano's tuning.  And again when you change from Spring to Summer and turn on the AC full time, go ahead and schedule your next piano service. 

Most manufacturers actually recommend 3-4 tunings each year.  In a piano's early years, strict regular maintenance habits will pay dividends down the road.  Our attentive technicians can also reduce the nuisance issues that may occur in a machine as complex as a piano.

The Casio AP-620 is a great digital piano.  This Casio Celviano AP-620 is a piano first, keyboard second.  By that, we mean that this piano has the features you want out of a piano: a great sound, a smooth, weighted piano feel, and a nice looking cabinet.  When you add the many digital features (250 tones, auto accompaniment, USB and MIDI jacks for computer connectivity, SD card recording options, etc.) this piano outperforms any acoustic piano for the same money.  Add in a few bonuses like a built-in metronome, no tuning or scheduled maintenance, and a quality digital piano makes great sense.

We sell and service many institutional pianos and for their needs, the grand piano stage dolly by Jansen is our first choice.  A stage dolly will allow you to regularly move your piano freely, safely, and with less wear and tear.  Still, a stage dolly in an investment that you will make one time and then, like most people, you will forget about it.  For this reason, we recommend this piano dolly for its high-quality and low-maintenance.

These piano dollies are appropriate for nearly all grand pianos sized 4'8" - 5'11" in length.  The radial arms extend to get the right fit.  This is also the correct dolly for 6' - 6'1" pianos made by Yamaha, Young Chang, Kawai, Samick, and Kohler & Campbell.  If you are unsure of your order, please contact us.

So why the AP-420?  The Casio Celviano AP-420 is about value.  We regularly recommend this piano to customers in our store for the above reasons.  We like it because the feel is very good, comparable to much more expensive digital pianos and a very good simulation of a real piano feel.  The sound and speakers are also much better than other digitals in its price range, but the sampled sounds may not be as textured and rich as digitals designed for professional recording.  But then it is a home model.  We keep in mind the piano's purpose.  The Casio Celviano AP-420 is a great starter piano for your home.

In fewer cases, if the stage dolly is used to replace large locking brass casters then you will need #6544R.  Model #6544R has arms that compensate for the height difference made by these extra-large casters (like the ones pictured).
