SuperNATURAL® Piano

The DP-990F is enhanced with Roland’s breakthrough SuperNATURAL Piano technology. Three key elements are dramatically improved: velocity response, note decay, and key-range behavior. Where previous sample-based technology created coarse “stair-step” gaps in velocity and key range, and unnatural looping in note decay, SuperNATURAL bridges the gaps with perfectly smooth and natural three-dimensional sound and response.  Link to Video Explanation of SuperNATURAL Piano technology.

Functional Style

The DP-990F impresses with its sleek, modern-furniture-like design, featuring a solid, soft-close safety lid that can be used as a music rest when opened and as a flat surface when closed. This instrument's Satin Black finish enhances any environment it’s placed in.

Authentic Grand-Piano Feel

The DP-990F is equipped with Roland’s acclaimed PHA II keyboard with Escapement. The keyboard yields a heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the upper, providing lighter resistance for pianissimo passages and stronger resistance for fortissimo. The escapement architecture of the DP keys reproduces the characteristic “click feel” of a grand piano for the ultimate in realistic performance and expression.

USB Enhanced

USB compatibility opens a world of exciting add-ons and extra functionality to the DP-990F. Play along with audio files or Standard MIDI files directly from a USB key, or layer pre-recorded music from a commercially available audio CD with your performance by connecting a USB CD drive (Roland CD-01A, optional). Your audience won’t believe how much music is coming from a single instrument.

New Twin-Piano Mode

The “Twin Piano” function allows you to split the keyboard left and right into two regions, each with its own middle “C” and damper pedal. Two players wearing headphones can then play completely independently without hearing one another (Individual Twin-Piano), a powerful application for “partner” lessons or piano labs.

Schimmel 5'7" GP169T (2001)
This is your dream piano.  Like it rolled off the factory floor, this piano is perfect!  Schimmel has long been the best selling German piano in both the US & in Germany.  Schimmel rarely makes these hand-rubbed ebony satin finishes, but the effect is gorgeous and more maticulous than any Steinway.  The detailed interior far surpasses even most top-tier instruments.

We now take it for granted that Schimmel makes a fabulous instrument.  This model GP169T is the same piano as the current Konzert series model K169T...only the name changed.  The sound of this Schimmel is warm yet clear, the action is smooth, precise and the same responsive design featured in the 7' model!  If new, this piano retails for $55,590 (source: The Piano Buyer, Spring 2012).
