The salon grand model 214 is happiest demonstrating its concert capabilities at performances in medium-sized concert halls.  This is where its strengths can come to the fore: optimal sound transparency, sheer delight in playing, precision of touch, unsurpassed fullness of sound, dynamic control and a sustained tonal character that will be warmly applauded. Salon grands rose in popularity at the start of the Biedermeier period (the style in painting, literature and furniture from around 1815 to 1848). During that era, an important role was played in Viennese musical life by elegantly furnished salons where the foremost composers of their day would present their works. During the 19th century, salons developed into exclusive gathering places for Austria’s aristocratic and bourgeois society. The Bosendorfer 214 model is, naturally, also eminently suitable for private spaces. 1.278489

Make an appointment to see this wonderful, fully restored 7' Mason & Hamlin model BB.  Mason & Hamlin is one of the most storied American piano makers and one of just a few surviving piano makers in the USA.Shortly after the turn of the 19th century, Mason & Hamlin changed the trajectory of their pianos from good to the very best among some amazing competition.  They enjoyed a "Golden Era" of piano making and design before the fall of the Great Depression.  In 1932, the factory moved from Boston to Rochester, New York under new ownership.  For piano connoisseurs, these Golden Era Mason & Hamlin pianos are the most desirable. This 1913 Mason & Hamlin model BB represents the peak of American made pianos and American piano design for so many musicians, piano technicians, and experts in their design.  These pianos are massively built using fine hardwoods, thick cast iron plates and the patented "tension resonator" system of turnbuckles designed to reinforce the already massive rim...and retain soundboard crown. After many decades, Mason & Hamlin returned the manufacturing to Boston under new ownership.  This lasting legacy serves to bring more attention to their Golden Era pianos, aw well.  Then and now, the Mason & Hamlin model BB is a truly impressive musical instrument. If new, MSRP is $89,232 (The Piano Buyer, Spring 2016 - Larry Fine). This Mason & Hamlin model BB has been fully restored by PianoWorks at our facility in Duluth, GA.  The restoration includes many more steps than can be listed here, but here are some highlights: New handcrafted Eastern White Spruce Soundboard New Maple bridge caps New fully-fit Maple pinblock New strings including custom bass strings New Renner (German) repetitions New Abel (German) hammers & shanks New custom key set New Steinway backchecks & damper felts Refinished cabinet in hand-rubbed satin ebony Plate re-guilded New agraffes, plate felts All hardware freshly replated in nickel Includes 5-year parts & labor warranty and choice of new matching artist bench.1.075455

Hidrau Model, or HM, has been manufacturing many of the finest piano benches in Europe for years.  Now available in the U.S.A., these contemporary style benches are quickly becoming the most sought after for their purposeful and clean design, their sturdy construction, and their luxurious comfort. With this design, height adjustments are quick and easy by controlling a lever.  There are no knobs that stick out, no complex mechanism to service, no linkage that causes the bench to wobble or rock over time.  This bench is also longer (30") than standard artists benches (often room for two).  The height range is over 5" when most good artist benches have a range of 3".  They are perfect for performance halls, for teaching studios (where student after student needs a different height), and they are also great for European uprights like Seiler, Schimmel, and C. Bechstein that tend to have a higher key height. Metal Construction, no wobbly legs Silent Mechanism High density foam cushion for support Rounded edges for comfort Vinyl Upholstery, stonger than leather and easier to care for No knobs, quick lever operation No wobbling or rocking screw-type mechanism Height ranges from 18.25" to 23.5" Weighs a moderate 32 lbs *The HM Hydraulic bench is actually a misnomer.  It uses a superior Pneumatic mechanism with compressed air to facilitate height adjustments.  Similar Hydraulic piano benches from other manufacturers use fluid mechanisms that, if they fail, can leave an oily mess.0.387378

Many people say Bosendorfer’s 130 CL model sounds like a grand piano; many think it is the best upright piano in the world.  Naturally it benefits from all the expertise of their craftsmen just as their grand pianos do. By definition it has all the advantages of an upright piano over a grand piano: it is smaller and needs less space, it is easier to acquire and is more affordable. The precision installation of the mechanics is designed to deliver optimal playability and maximum control without loss of power transmission. Model 130 CL is a tremendously elegant design and its proportions are perfectly balanced. In other words, it is a beauty.  It is probably the easiest way to share the exclusive, world-famous Bosendorfer name. 0.1332248
