Make an appointment to see this wonderful, fully restored 7' Mason & Hamlin model BB. Mason & Hamlin is one of the most storied American piano makers and one of just a few surviving piano makers in the USA.
Shortly after the turn of the 19th century, Mason & Hamlin changed the trajectory of their pianos from good to the very best among some amazing competition. They enjoyed a "Golden Era" of piano making and design before the fall of the Great Depression. In 1932, the factory moved from Boston to Rochester, New York under new ownership. For piano connoisseurs, these Golden Era Mason & Hamlin pianos are the most desirable.
This 1913 Mason & Hamlin model BB represents the peak of American made pianos and American piano design for so many musicians, piano technicians, and experts in their design. These pianos are massively built using fine hardwoods, thick cast iron plates and the patented "tension resonator" system of turnbuckles designed to reinforce the already massive rim...and retain soundboard crown.
After many decades, Mason & Hamlin returned the manufacturing to Boston under new ownership. This lasting legacy serves to bring more attention to their Golden Era pianos, aw well. Then and now, the Mason & Hamlin model BB is a truly impressive musical instrument.
If new, MSRP is $89,232 (The Piano Buyer, Spring 2016 - Larry Fine).
