We are particularly proud of the instrument test result for the C 182 Tradition. Le Monde de la Musique*, one of the leading French musical periodicals, produced a succinct and concise summary of the model’s characteristics: “Unmistakably developed for the demanding musician and … its excellent action which has evolved from the larger-scale brand models permits a veritable interlink with the tone. With this model C 182 Tradtion, Schimmel has produced a grand piano which is capable of doing justice to the major works of the piano repertiore."

I Love this Piano

This piano was a Christmas gift to myself. I am an intermediate student with no real professional aspirations, but I was looking for a solid, well-made piano to last a long time, and one that was above my skill level thinking that would encourage me to practice; my theory was correct. When I began my search, I was looking mostly at the major American and Japanese brands, but I was also interested in trying out other brands not quite as common and not as mass produced. Still initially, I was fairly certain I wanted one of the Americans. When I was shown this Schimmel and could compare it next to some of the others being considered, I learned I loved the clear, brighter tone of the Schimmel versus the more mellow, "darker" tones of the Americans, and the Schimmel was not as bright in tone as some of the Japanese models tested. The Schimmel has the perfect sound and touch for me. Now my teacher, a professional musician and college level instructor, comes to my house to give me lessons and loves to play on my Schimmel. She raves about the beautiful sound of this piano, and she's played them all from Steinway to Bosendorfer. She even went with me to test out all the various ones I was considering. I loved to play on her American piano, but I love playing my Schimmel more. This is the perfect piano for me, and it truly has increased my playing skill. I love to sit down and play even if it's only for a couple of minutes; l can barely pass by it without sitting down to play even just a few measures . This is my Cadillac, and I am very happy with it. I haven't had any major problems with it so far, none that my piano tech, who was actually the one who recommended Schimmel to me, has not been able to handle. His advice during my search was invaluable, and he still talks about what a wonderful instrument I have when he comes to tune it. The piano is still adjusting to my household environment, so as we now go through a different season, I am sure we will weather it just fine. I highly recommend this wonderful, beautiful beast to anyone looking for something a little different but of good quality overall with a beautiful, bright, and clear tone.
